Panasonic press conference

Posted by Charbax on September 3rd, 2009

Video from the Panasonic press conference at IFA 2009, where they launch a new compact DSLR camera the Panasonic GF1 as well as they are doing a big deal out of showing 3D Full HD HDTVs for the first time. 3D glasses are required. The producer of James Cameron new HD movie Avatar is on stage explaining the point of 3D movies a bit. Pricing for 3D HDTVs is yet unknown. Panasonic’s 3D Blu-ray players will support outputting 3D HD from 3D Blu-ray movie discs.

I don’t really like 3D glasses, they make a fuzzy image. I wonder if Panasonic has managed to make the image of nicer quality. I’ll post more videos of this and other new Panasonic products later.

You can see a video of Panasonic’s 3D game on XboX360 3D Avatar game in this video: http://youtube.com/watch?v=qPSw3B08kc0

Looking for an exclusive sponsor for my IFA 2009 video coverage

Posted by Charbax on September 3rd, 2009

The most likely sponsor for my IFA 2009 video coverage dropped out a few days ago. I have since then unsuccessfully been pitching the idea to other companies.

For 2000 dollars to my paypal@charbax.com you can have your business or product highlighted in annotations at the bottom of all my 35-50 videos of the best products and companies shown at IFA 2009 from September 3rd to 9th here in Berlin.

If you are interested, you contact also me by email charbax@gmail.com

This includes that I can also film your company’s product at IFA in priority. This offer is exclusive for the first company that pays.

Your company annotation would thus be displayed to probably between 500′000 and up to 5 million viewers during the days, weeks and months following the tradeshow.

The annotation can be like the one displayed on this video:

“IFA 2009 video coverage sponsored by YourCompanyName”

That annotation can link to any Youtube video or Youtube channel of your choice. Thus bringing your Youtube video or channel potentially tens of thousands of extra views which can lead to much more if your content is engaging and interesting to the viewers.

Video of the Archos 9 pctablet

Posted by Charbax on June 14th, 2009

Here is a HD quality close-up look at the Archos 9 PC tablet device as shown at the Archos Event in Paris which was also live streamed and which is now available as a recording at http://archosfans.com/2009/06/11/archos-event-video-recorded/.

About the price, you have to consider that EU prices in Euro include an average of 20-25% VAT taxes that people have to pay in Europe. So the US price often is about the same amount just in US dollars. I also think that I remember clearly that Archos announced this as a 450€ or 500 US dollar device. So converting the Euro price to US dollars is not the correct way to guess the US targetted suggested retail price for this product. Thus expect this to be sold unlocked cheaper than 500 US dollars in the USA, thus cheaper than the current price of an unsubsidized iphone (599 US dollars). Also consider than until the release, Archos may find HSDPA networking partners in many countries around the world to ship this product to consumers at a subsidized price (for example I’m just guessing 199 US dollars) when bundling it with a long term HSDPA data service package for it.

Videos of the Archos 10S, Archos 13 and some talk about the Archos Android device/devices to be shown and released by Archos in September will be uploaded later today.

Archos Android to be shown and released in September

Posted by Charbax on June 14th, 2009

Archos had representatives from Intel and Microsoft on stage, so Archos could not use this event to also show their fully in-house developed Archos Android product or line of products. Sadly. We will have to wait a bit more to see more of that. But Archos CEO Henri Crohas started his Keynote speaking about the Android line of products and giving us some details, basically saying that it’s going to be awesome.

Archos explained a bit of how it is working now in terms of R&D and development work. Archos still has their core engineering team working on the Android device/devices to be unveiled on or before September the 15th at another event. All the while, Archos is able to release Intel and Microsoft based products and position themselves very well on the market, in partnership with engineers and manufacturers in China, in partnership with Intel and Microsoft as well.

You can hear more from the Archos CEO Henri Crohas about Android in the keynote that we broadcast live using ustream.tv at around the 15-25th minute: http://archosfans.com/2009/06/11/archos-event-video-recorded/

Here I filmed a highlight of Henri Crohas’s talk about Android in upcoming Archos device/devices:

HD hands-on videos are being uploaded right now. If my Hotel’s internet upload is fast enough, you will have the videos posted early tomorrow morning. Otherwise I will upload them during the next couple of days.

Archos Android products will be shown later, in September, by the 15th of September 2009, Archos will have the Android event with one or more Android products shown. Sorry, I thought that Archos was going to show the Android products at this event.
