Check this out. I was on a tour to see the installation process of the ATLAS experiment at CERN in Geneva during the first Lift07 workshop. This physics experiment is totally awesome, costs several billion dollars to the worlds countries and european member states who are working together to build this. The tour guide is Chinese, has worked at CERN for 10 years, there were a lot of russian engineers working on the ATLAS construction. The LHC is set to launch later this year, and it will provide our civilisation with some explanations for how the universe works and of what it is built of.
