Video review of the 604 Wi-Fi, showing close-ups of it in action, connecting to stream from a local video server, browsing the Internet, navigating the touch-screen interface, comparing the screen quality with the 504 and showing more details. This is the first review of the 604 Wi-Fi out of several that I will do each time a new important firmware release is available.

I managed to get my camera in to the top secret SED screen demonstration area. Where all competing engineers are detected by agents and are not allowed in, where there are agents looking for anyone filming the screen during the show. The screen does look nice but even to my eye it kind of seems to flicker a little bit (maybe not more than a normal CRT screen). I wonder if they can fix up the refresh rate little bit before they begin mass production. So this is a competing large screen Full HD screen technology. Competes with Plasma, LCD, DLP and JVC’s HD-ILA. In this video I also get to interview one of the marketing responsible from Toshiba in their top secret dark demonstration room. According the representative, it will ship in 55″ full HD version in Q4 2007.

Their newest model supports H264 in HD. But they aren’t yet certified for HDCP, thus no HDMI output ports. They are showing a new DVB-T module that enables you to record the shows directly onto the 3.5″ harddrive which is inside the device or which is external on one of the usb2-host ports.
